DavisSM Math Mastery Program

 

The Davis Math Mastery Program addresses math problems (dyscalculia). The approach goes to the root of why some people have problems understanding and learning math with traditional teaching methods. Davis Math Mastery does not use manipulative, memorization, tricks, flashcards or repetition.


Basic Program Outline

  • Davis Perceptual Ability Assessment and Symptoms Profile Interview
  • Davis Orientation Counseling
  • Davis Symbol Mastery
  • Davis Concept Mastery for building Math foundation concepts
  • Davis Math Function Exercises
  • Results Assessment Interview
  • Support Training

Expectations for improvements

  • Basic concepts: Counting, Quantities, Sequence, Whole numbers
  • Operations: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division
  • Applications: Time, Calendars, Measurement, Money, Estimation, Word Problem Comprehension

Program Schedule

  • 5-8 days of one-to-one facilitation (ages 8 and up)
  • Support training for client¡¦s family, tutor(s) or teacher(s)
  • Three return follow-up visits (if necessary) and unlimited phone/email consultations.

Program Prerequisites

For the Davis Program to be effective, a person must be personally motivated and willing to improve Math performance. Since the program is a drug-free solution, therefore clients must disclose all medication prior to the program.
